The Persistent Shoulder Pain Online Boot Camp Program Course is a 6-week online training program aimed to significantly improve short and long-term outcomes.

Refers to shoulder pain of more than three months duration. Most commonly due to tendinitis (tears and/or irritation) of the biceps and/or rotator cuff and/or degenerative changes (osteoarthritis). Can be caused by trauma or repetitive strain. May occur at any age but is more common in older adults.

What are the current symptoms?

  • Usually a dull nagging ache that becomes worse with certain movements
  • The pain is usually located proximally at the anterior and/or lateral aspects of the shoulder
  • Pain can refer distally to the mid-lateral arm and to the elbow
  • Usually worse with overhead lifting, pulling activities or when sleeping on the affected side

What are the current treatments for Persistent Shoulder Pain?

  • Most people recover well from shoulder tendinitis with appropriate treatment but there is no cure for shoulder pain due to osteoarthritis
  • Surgery is usually the last resort when all other treatments fail
  • Cortisone injections and anti-inflammatory medications can provide short-term relief but are not recommended as a stand-alone treatment
  • Multimodal conservative care combining education on self-management, specific exercises, and manual therapy is recommended

Why take the Online Boot Camp Program Course for Persistent Shoulder Pain?

  • The 6-week Boot Camp Program for Persistent Shoulder Pain is a comprehensive approach incorporating the best available research
  • Combines manual therapy, tailored exercises, and instruction on self-management strategies, including ways to reduce pain-related fear and anxiety
  • The goal is to reduce pain, restore function and reduce recurrences
  • Best results when the program is implemented by a trained practitioner, but important benefits can be achieved when performed on your own (self-directed)
